My aunt's evo has the oil light come on every once and awhile but there is enough oil in the engine by the dip stick reading. Could it be the oil return f'ed up? or just a faulty sensor?

Could be a sensor, but that is for pressure, not how much oil is in it. So it's either a faulty sensor or there are some oil pressure issues.

run to auto zone and have them scan it, no sence in just throwen parts at it, could be simple fix by a bad sensor, or bigger problem like no pressure

under what conditions does the light come on? could you be sloshing enough oil around that the oil pan runs nearly dry?

he said it's full up, so i hope he's not making it slosh around so bad that it can't pick any up to set off the pressure light. i think the car would have to be upside down for that

well, it's a common problem in vees, what with that horizontally opposed engine and all some people claim seeing 0psi oil pressure when running on the banking at Daytona, I've never personally had an issue of the sort, but i have heard of it happening.

happens after the car has been driven for awhile, like 30miles with some high boost in there at some points.
